We are eager to welcome your family into ours and to provide a warm, nurturing, safe home for your child. We look forward to learning about your child’s strengths and challenges and to determining whether Shefa might be the right fit.
Shefa students are bright, creative, curious, and socially engaged, yet they struggle with language, which impacts their ability to learn to read and write. They may find it challenging to organize and remember information, make themselves understood clearly, keep up with the pace of a typical classroom, or maintain attention and persist. Fortunately, we know how to empower these students to succeed.
אֵין אָדָם לוֹמֵד תּוֹרָה אֶלָּא מִמָּקוֹם שֶׁלִּבּוֹ חָפֵץ.
“One only learns in a place where one’s heart wants to be.”
Talmud — Avodah Zarah 19a
The Shefa School is a proud member of the Independent Schools Admissions Association of Greater New York (ISAAGNY). Founded in 1965, ISAAGNY aims to ensure orderly, professional, and equitable admissions processes at member schools: we do so by observing a shared admissions timeline, engaging in professional development to hone our collective craft, exchanging resources and best practices, and more. The resulting spirit of cooperation serves schools, families, and nearly 30,000 students across greater New York.
